This carefully planned image literally bursts with message, allowing for many different levels of interpretation.
In the technical aspect what first catches attention is the abundance of detail, all rendered in sharp focus and high contrast. There is much plasticity in this image. This is even emphasised by a very careful arrangement of objects and models and a thorough planning of lighting. Judging by how perfect the model and the photographer are framed within the mirror, how the model's arms copy the shape of the frame and how well balanced the bright and dark areas are - it must have been one of literally hundreds of similar takes which made it through the photographer's selection. Furthermore, what catches the eye in the visual aspect, is constant repetition of motives and balancing out of antitheses - good examples being the naked body of the girl contrasted with the fully clothed man, or the glamorous look
